Thai, Canadian political leaders convince Taylor Swift to bring Eras Tour to their countries

Two political leaders are convincing Taylor Swift to bring the latter’s Eras Tour in both of their respective countries.

Upon learning that there are currently no stops in Canada, their Prime Minister Justin Trudeau couldn’t just shake this off.

Trudeau convinced the singer-songwriter on Twitter with a greeting starter that he cited from the latter’s hit ‘Anti-Hero’

“It’s me, hi. I know places in Canada would love to have you. So, don’t make it another cruel summer. We hope to see you soon.” tweeted Trudeau last July 6.

It is not only Trudeau that implores Taylor to bring the tour on Canadian soil. Last June, a conservative lawmaker called her out for lack of respect and not considering Canada to be one of the stops. It can be recalled that Taylor performed in Canada way back in 2018.

In Asia, Pita Limjaroenrat, the leader of Thailand’s Move Forward party, also convinced her via Twitter – on the same day as Trudeau.

“Thailand is back on track to be fully democratic after you had to cancel last time due to the coup,” tweeted Limjaroenrat.

Limjaroenrat referred to the postponed Bangkok leg of the Red Tour in 2014 due to the military takeover of their government.

“The Thai people have spoken via the election and we all look forward to welcoming you to this beautiful nation of ours,” he added.

Although still gearing up for taking the oath as prime minister, Limjaroenrat already swore that when he would also be on stage – joining the crowd singing ‘Lavender Haze’.

Over the past few weeks, the singer-songwriter announced additional touring dates. It will now visit other countries in North America, Europe, South America, Asia, and Australia. In Southeast Asia, the tour would only stop in Singapore for six touring dates in 2024.

Let our response be: “Sana ol uncruel ang summer” and “Pakigalaw po ang baso” to our local leaders.
