Hank Green introduces the 2022 Crash Course Coin

Crash Course is introducing a new way to reach out to more young learners.

Crash Course is an online educational YouTube channel founded by brothers, John and Hank Green, with the aim to provide young students and learners with educational videos that they can access for free. With a simple goal when it launched in 2011, ten years later, the channel has now accumulated over 13 million subscribers, 44 sets of courses, over 1500 videos, and a total of over 1.6 billion views. Today, Crash Course is now set to reach for a bigger set of dreams, not just for their channel but also for their audiences.

While different Crash Course resource materials can be accessed by anyone with an internet connection, their goal is not just to provide free educational content but to also help lower the learning barriers as much as they can, meaning it has to be at the lowest price possible. But the content should still be of the highest quality, presented in the most compelling, memorable, and beautiful way possible.

To help achieve this goal, Hank Green, one of the co-founders, proudly presented the 2022 Crash Course Coin on June 1. The Crash Course Coin is a fundraising project wherein one can avail of a limited edition and personalized coin to help raise funds and lessen the educational material costs for learners.

Each coin features the art of the Lascaux cave, by unknown artists who have lived in what is now France around 17,000 years ago, which continues to fascinate people ever since its modern-day discovery.

There will be three different types of the Crash Course Coins — there’s the $100 coin that’s been minted on nickel silver at a real mint in Arkansas, beautifully hand-engraved by Woody Maringer, that will enable them to reach about 2,000 students.

Then, there’s the $500 coin that’s been minted on thicker brass, and each one of them is stamped with a number between 1 and 500, which will enable Crash Course to reach about 10,000 students. This will also come with a signed “Thank You” card signed by the Green brothers.

The last coin is a special, 3-year Patron coin, that was also minted on nicker silver for Patreon patrons who have recently surpassed their 3-year anniversary supporting Crash Course.

Crash Course is encouraging everyone to be a part of their advocacy as each purchase will allow them to have better support for their teams of professionals, and expand and sustain their channel as the years go by. By reaching out a hand to more young learners and breaking down educational barriers, the access to the right information and proper learning will now be made easier for students.

The coins will only be produced in a limited quantity, and will only be available from June 1 until June 13.
