With uncertainty that continues to overtop the country as COVID-19 cases increases, everyone has to deal with the ‘new norms’ – the new normal ways of living through a pandemic that only a few can afford. Managing this kind of transition is getting much difficult for adults, but even more for children. At a time like this when we need solidarity, Projec+ Kapwa strongly believes that early childhood education is crucial in a child’s development and it can also help bring families together. The group calls on the public to participate with its donation drive until October 9, 2020.
Supported by Alaska Milk Corporation, Rebisco Foundation Inc., Gardenia Philippines; co-presented by the Commission on Human Rights of the Philippines, UST College of Education Student Council, De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute-College of Rehabilitation and Sciences Student Council, The Ateneo Assembly, DASIG Party of University of San Carlos Cebu, World Youth Alliance-Antique Chapter, Blogger Band, Peer Organization of the Philippines; and in collaboration with several advocate groups, ABAKADA123 aimed to provide basic and sensible learning supplies and essential packs for 250 preschoolers from Cebu City, Anini-y Antique, Pasay City, San Pedro City and Sta. Cruz Laguna.
Projec+ Kapwa is a non-profit and non-governmental youth organization initially formed by youth volunteers from Mega Manila to provide aid to the most vulnerable communities, health workers and other frontliners of COVID-19 outbreak. Amidst the different challenges that the country is facing, the team extends its hands through ‘Pagtulong at Pakikipagkapwa’ to spread awareness and compassion in this ordeal.
Since its inception in March 2020, Projec+ Kapwa, alongside with its donors and partners from top corporations in the Philippines, has already spearheaded several relief operations with over P 1-M worth of goods distributed in many barangays and hospitals in Laguna. The youth-led group is faithful to its vision ‘decent lives and genuine smiles, para sa kapwa.’ To find out more about Projec+ Kapwa’s ABAKADA123 and its other initiatives, visit the Official Facebook Page at www.facebook.com/projectkapwa or the Official Instagram Page at www.instagram.com/projectkapwa/.
