Man has been receiving pizzas every day for 10 years—but he never ordered them

June 08th, 2020

Receiving boxes of pizza every day may sound like a dream come true to everyone—but for this 65-year-old man from Turnhout, Belgium, it feels more like a recurring nightmare.

For almost a decade, Jean Van Landeghem’s normal day has always been filled with food delivery guys showing up at his front door even though he never ordered them. Some drop off boxes of pizza at different times of day while others deliver fast-food items.

While most of us would say that this is some sort of an annoying prank, Landeghem shared in his interview with  Het Laatste Nieuws that he starts to shake with fear every time he hears a scooter outside. He also needs to explain his side to each restaurant every time he refuses to accept and pay for the orders.

“I cannot sleep anymore. I start shaking every time I hear a scooter on the street. I dread that someone will come to drop off hot pizzas yet another time,” said Landeghem.

The strange thing about this is that even his friend (who lives 20 miles away from him) has also experienced the same situation for 10 years. As the authorities look into the matter, they believe that the culprit behind this must be someone the two men both know.
