Growing up, we, ladies, were always told that we should dress and act a certain way. From the way we use makeup to our choice in clothing, women are expected to adjust into what society believes is the “perfect woman.”
But the reality is that there is no “perfect woman” in the universe. Each girl has her own set of ideal qualities and flaws that make her unique within her community. And whatever age, race, or size, that girl comes in, she is beautiful in her own special way.
Given this, it’s a good reminder for ladies everywhere to understand that it’s okay not to be flawless all the time. Take the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, for instance, who was okay with someone telling her she gained a bit of weight because of her pregnancy.
In this short video clip, Peggy McEachrom from the Mayhew animal shelter reportedly called Markle “a fat lady” – to which the Duchess replied, “I’ll take it.”

Although this was a very bold statement on the part of McEachrom, the royal mom-to-be understood that it wasn’t meant to hurt her. And since the video has been uploaded, a number of Twitter users appreciated Markle’s response to the McEachrom’s comment.
Some of them even noted how it’s common in Jamaican culture to call someone “fat” if they’re expecting – so, no harm was meant by it.
We’re really in awe of the poise and grace displayed by the Duchess of Sussex, and we can’t wait to see what she’ll do next, especially when it concerns her patronage!
