Universal Records Artists Win Big at the 4th Wish Music Awards

Universal Records artists bagged multiple major awardsat the recently concluded 4th Wish Music Awards: Breaking Boundaries, which was held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum and hosted by Universal Records artist Christian Bautista along with Gretchen Ho.

Leading the pack is OPM Rap Icon Gloc-9, who won the Wishclusive Hip-hop Performance of the Year for the track ‘TRPKNNMN’ coming off of his 20th anniversary EP ‘Rotonda.’

Following suit is his protege Shanti Dope, who added yet another accolade for his breakout year in the industry. The fiery hot rapper won Wish Hip-hop Song of the Year for his song ‘Shantidope (feat. Gloc-9).’

Further proving her breakthroughs in the music scene is Julie Anne San Jose, who won the Wish Urban Song of the Year for the song ‘Down For Me (feat. Fern.)’, one of the singles from ‘Breakthrough,’ her debut album with the label. Joining her onstage was singer/songwriter/producer Fern. who collaborated with her on the track.

On top of these, both Shanti and Julie were included in one of the Wish Music Awards’ top awards for the night – the Bronze Wishclusive Elite Circle Award, awarded to those who have received a minimum of 10 million streams for their Wishclusive Performance Videos. Shanti received for the award for his performance of ‘Shantidope’ which has garnered 11 million streams to date, while Julie’s sweet rendition of the Parokya ni Edgar classic ‘Your Song (My One and Only)’ which has 16 million unique views.

Aside from receiving their respective trophies, each winning artist was given the opportunity to share their achievement with a Php100,000 cash donation to a chosen charitable institution.

The artists are very proud of their achievements, and would like to thank Wish 107.5 for continuously providing not only a venue to promote their music, but also for supporting fresh new talents in commitment to flourishing the OPM scene.
