J.K. Rowling flicks her wand and shouts “Silencio” to Twitter trolls

February 03rd, 2017

Bestselling author J.K. Rowling does not only know how to disarm her readers with her captivating stories, she’s perfected her expelliarmus against Twitter trolls as well.

This all started when the author posted on Twitter a quote from Winston Churchill that pertains to US President Donald Trump’s new immigration restrictions:

"You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life." — Winston Churchill

An angry Twitter troll called her “Mrs. Shitty Writer” and Rowling just couldn’t help flicking her wand back with this retort:

*sighs* Well, who knows? If I try harder, I might be reincarnated as a lonely virgin hiding behind a cartoon frog. pic.twitter.com/EbocdxfJ5o

So when this person told her to stay out of politics, Rowling reminded her who’s living in a fantasy world…

In – Free – Countries – Anyone – Can – Talk – About – Politics.

…and who’s really hiding behind a “fictional dweeb.”

Unless you're actually a hooded chihuahua, I'm pretty sure I win on the 'not hiding' front. I quite like 'old whore', though. #Shakespearean pic.twitter.com/0pIEVfrGn7

When this trolls won’t die, Rowling finally used wingardium leviosa and hit a nasty troll with his own club:

I think you mean 'shudder', unless there's a biblical character called Shutter I've forgotten. pic.twitter.com/x1uOy6n3BH

She was not the least bit perturbed when people threatened to burn their copies of her books and their Harry Potter DVDs that she even offered her lighter:

Well, the fumes from the DVDs might be toxic and I've still got your money, so by all means borrow my lighter. pic.twitter.com/kVoi8VGEoK

She’s not done yet though. Rowling sent this troll a Howler:

Guess it's true what they say: you can lead a girl to books about the rise and fall of an autocrat, but you still can't make her think. pic.twitter.com/oB7Aq6Xz8M

And despite the nasty remarks, she has not loss her humor one bit:

Actually, we're thinking of selling them in pairs in future; a 'read one, burn one' deal for those who like the magic, but not the morals. https://t.co/EPsXoDodr7
