Why Tobey & Andrew could be in ‘No Way Home’ despite no features in new trailer

After weeks of rumors and tons of leaks, the second trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home was finally released by Sony in all major social media platforms, to the delight of fans who waited patiently for it. (Including us here at POP!)

If you watched the trailer for the first time, it’s definitely an overwhelming experience as it gives us a sneak peek at the Sinister Six, who apparently all come from different Spidey movie universes. There’s the significant villains from Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy: The Goblin (William Dafoe), Doc Ock (Alfred Molina), and even the Sandman (Thomas Haden Church). Then there’s villains from Marc Webb’s Amazing Spider-Man films: The Lizard (Rhys Ifans) and Electro (Jamie Foxx).

Based on the trailer, Peter Parker (Tom Holland) has to face all of the classic Spidey villains after they end up in his universe after Doctor Strange’s memory-wiping spell.

All this begs the question that many fans have been asking: If all the villains are here, where are the heroes? More specifically, where are the other Spideys we all know and love: Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield? We all expected them to be in this second trailer, but they never make an appearance… or so we thought.

Twitter is home to a lot of sleuths and detectives, so let’s take a look into the evidence they found that definitely proves Tobey and Andrew’s involvement in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

This tweet above shows Tom Holland’s Spidey going up against the Sandman, Electro, and the Lizard. However, Tom Holland seems to be going towards Sandman only, while Electro and the Lizard are punching at… the air?

This next tweet is a clip from the Brazilian version of the trailer, which shows the Lizard getting punched by a mysterious force… is it Casper, or is it a digitally erased Spiderman? A ton of fans seem to believe the latter:

Marvel is notorious for editing out a lot of things in their trailers compared to the actual release, so the digitally-erased Spiderman is a huge possibility.

Here’s a recap of all the evidence we’ve gathered so far to prove that this movie indeed has all three Spidermen.

This second trailer and all the speculation that has come with it gives us a lot more to look forward to when the movie comes out in Philippine cinemas on January 8 of next year.
