Unleash your bending powers in an upcoming Avatar tabletop RPG

We have some exciting news for fans of the ‘Avatar’ series. They can soon live out their bending dreams in an official tabletop role-playing game set to release next year.

In a partnership between Magpie Games and ViacomCBS, the game’s core book is slated to come out on February 2022. Set within the ‘Avatar’ universe, players will assume the roles of heroes tasked to keep the peace among the four nations. Both eras from ‘The Last Airbender’ and ‘The Legend of Korra’ will be covered in the game, giving fans the opportunity to create their own unique experience.

Two supplement books are already set to follow the game’s initial release. The first one revolving around Korra’s Republic City, coming in August 2022, and the next takes place in the Spirit World to come out in February 2023. The Avatar tabletop RPG is sure to be an expansive adventure for fans of the iconic show.

If you’re wondering how accurate the game will be, no need to worry because the project is in good hands. Magpie Games CEO Mark Diaz has expressed that they are committed to keep the game true to the authentic spirit of the original animated series. The company has been collaborating with a diverse pool of Asian designers in developing the product. Among the game’s leads is James Mendez Hodes, a Filipino-American RPG writer, developer, and cultural consultant.

While everyone is still hoping for an official video game, the Avatar tabletop RPG is still something to look forward to not only allowing them to return to the beloved setting, but this time as protagonists of the story!
