The bombshell has just been dropped: the late Filipino rapper Francis M allegedly had a secret lover and a love child. In a recent episode of ‘Pinoy Pawnstars,’ Abigail Rait and her daughter, Gail Francesca, sold the legendary rapper’s jersey, and revealed their secret love affair that began 15 years ago.
As the controversy popped up early last week and gained traction over the weekend, mixed reactions from Filipino social media users became a dime a dozen. Many influencers, personalities, and even regular social media users shared their opinions regarding the said issue.
Some blasted the apparent romanticism of “cheating”:
There were those that called for people to go a little easy on the mud-slinging, because, “we truly don’t know the full story”:
Some also think both parties could have handled this issue better, and more importantly, privately:
On October 18, actress and model Maxene Magalona reposted the US-based motivational speaker Laura Dawn’s words about “transmuting sacred rage into acts of kindness,” following his late father’s romantic involvement with Rait.
On Sunday, October 22, the actress reposted on her Instagram story an inspiring quote from @selfcarexpress in regards to being proud of oneself after all the silent battles and sad moments that one has endured.
While many were disappointed, some went to the other side of the road and chose to applaud Rait’s bravery. Some also said that Maxene Magalona and her siblings should accept their half-sister just for their late father’s sake. Here are the comments:
Some also romanticized the rapper’s relationship with Rait, with others even pointing out that she is “pretty.”
Some have turned to poking fun at the root cause of this issue, which is Boss Toyo and his pawn game:
Wait, what’s this! It’s…it’s OMG It’s Francis M’s former publicist Pilar Mateo with a steel chair proof of Pia and Francis’s wedding:
It seems the public isn’t letting this issue up for now, so most likely there will be more hot takes in the coming days as the story continues to develop. Or maybe even weeks, who knows.
