“It was a summer I would never, ever forget.”
Jenny Han’s summer novel trilogy-adaptation is soon to hit TV screens once again to show viewers the final segment of its last book, “We’ll Always Have Summer.” Amazon Prime Video initially reported in their July 2023 announcement that they’d return with the third and last installment ending with 10 episodes, but the series finale is to now consist of 11 episodes and will be airing this July.
The series follows the main character, Isabel “Belly” Conklin, who navigates her true sense of self whilst getting caught between a love triangle with the Fisher brothers, Conrad and Jeremiah. Vacationing at their beach house every summer in a fictional setting, Cousins Beach, the bunch ultimately grow together with their friends and families and face loss, heartbreaks, and new relationships.
Season 2 spoiler ahead!
Season 2 left us with Belly essentially choosing Jeremiah over Conrad. In the upcoming finale, we are to see them kicking off their new relationship. This is all that we know at the moment on how much of the book will be mirrored, as the network and its production have been avoiding giveaways to any hints about the direction the season will take. Cast member Christopher Briney, who plays the role of Conrad, also admitted to E! News last January “they don’t tell me anything,” as he wonders how the plot would progress with Han’s “secretive” ways.
While they also kept quiet on other stars who would be returning or possibly joining the show finale, we can, of course, anticipate the return of the main leads playing Belly and her boyfriend Jeremiah, Lola Tung and Gavin Casalegno.
Production began filming in May 2024, with their Instagram account: @thesummeriturnedpretty posting a video of the main leads playing volleyball, ending with Tung teasing fans, saying, “See you 2025.”

Story creator Jenny Han herself is to lead the series alongside writers Sarah Kucserka and Karen Rosenfelt, who are additionally returning as showrunners and executive producers.
