Twitter users are confused after finding out what’s inside a kangaroo’s ‘special pocket’

Ever since the world got its unlimited access to the internet, getting answers to our most random or bizarre questions has never been easier. With the help of a decent connection, you can just type in whatever query you have in mind—whether it’s knowing how to live like a carrot or why Filipinos love balikbayan boxes.

Despite the internet’s near-limitless capacity, there are things in life left unanswered or shrouded in mystery. And no, we are not going to talk about the chicken or egg dilemma here, but the kangaroo’s special pouch. Surely, most of us have always thought that it’s just a simple pocket serving as a shelter for its joey but in reality, it’s more of a secondary womb.

In an article published by Indy100, animal vlogger Alexandra Kalin posted a video on TikTok showing the inside of a kangaroo’s pouch and it’s a hole…into its flesh.

Before you start to freak out, the inner surface of the roo’s marsupium is commonly hairless and lined with sweat glands and built-in nipples to protect and feed its “jellybean.”

Both amazed and disturbed, online users couldn’t help but share their reactions to this newfound knowledge about the kangaroo’s special pocket.

Well, this usually happens when people spend too much time on the internet!
