Ohio nail shop receives attention for its lewd name, ‘Hand Jobs’

Ohio nail salon owner, Dawn Moon, is under fire for coming up with a lewd name for her business.

However, Moon knew what she was doing when she came up with the name. In an interview with ABC 13, she explained that “You don’t want something that they can’t remember or they can’t pronounce or say.”

And for Moon, there is no such thing as “bad publicity.”

“In less than a week, I think the whole country knows about us. You can’t pay for that kinds of advertising.”

Moon assured that the name “Hand Job” is perfect for the salon as it can be taken literally.

“If you go in and get your nose done, it’s called a nose job right? Well, you come in and get your hands done, it’s a hand job!”

“It really is what we do, we work on hands all day every day,” she added.

But there are quite a few haters who aren’t the biggest fans of the salon’s name.

There have been complaints to the local zoning board, according to Megan Sherlund the Perkins Township Zoning Director. “Signs should not be text or graphics not to be indecent or obscene in nature,” explained Sherlund.

“We have no stance on it other than we have to take into consideration the entire feel and community of Perkins Township.” After the disapproval of the authorities, people posted on their social media accounts to show their support for Moon.

One said: “Wtf… why because their shallow minds are in the gutter.. I hope you win your appeal.. That’s ridiculous.. Change it to Spanish if you have to.”

Another commented: “Nah this sign was genius and it needs to be approved! Let small businesses win dammit.”

LADBible also mentioned in their article that people are actually calling for a petition to be set up vowing to sign it and back the salon. Moon will be notified whether the sign meets zoning restrictions.

Despite the number of complaints, Moon has shown no interest in changing the name and will fight for it all the way./TV
