Shang-Chi star Simu Liu memes himself using old stock photos

Marvel’s latest MCU movie “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” has recently been released in most Western theaters, and we are all here for it!

Already historic because of its predominantly Asian cast and crew (a first in the superhero movie genre), it has grossed $90 million on its opening weekend – a great showing considering the struggle of theatrical releases due to the pandemic.

But did you know that the movie’s lead actor Simu Liu used to model in stock photos? Twitter users recently discovered hilarious stock photos of Liu in various random situations.

Before acting as the beloved Jung on the Canadian sitcom “Kim’s Convenience” and before becoming the Marvel superhero he is today, he used to pose for wholesome stock photos, and the internet is loving it!

When a fan asked Liu about the future of his stock photos, he responded with some amusing insider info.

Simu Liu has surely gone far from $120 photoshoots, as he now has an estimated net worth of $19 million in 2021.

He even got in on the meme-y fun, as he used a stock photo of himself to clap back on the doubters of his new movie.

As North America gets to enjoy Shang-chi, let’s continue to hope that we Filipinos can once again go back to seeing our favorite Marvel movies on the big screen, especially since blockbusters like “Spiderman: No Way Home” and “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” slated to be released in the upcoming months.
