The Philippines has long been recognized for having a big number of mobile phone users with approximately 74 million users as of 2019. However, compared to other nations, Filipinos are not so much known for developing mobile applications, despite having talented and creative software developers.
There are plenty of well-developed Filipino-made mobile applications to check (and download), such as these three featured:
TrashCash
Want to turn your trash into cash? TrashCash is your app!
Created by two Filipino software developers, TrashCash is an AI-based waste recognition application where users can turn their plastic trash into rewards.
According to TrashCash, Filipinos produce over 2 billion kilograms of plastics (worth roughly 12 pesos a kilo) every year. It is a recurring problem in our country that TrashCash is trying to help solve, one monetary reward at a time.
Despite being a startup application, TrashCash has partnered with different local government units and businesses to support their advocacy of educating Filipinos on the value and impact of their trash.
TrashCash is currently available on Android and is coming soon to iOS. You may visit their website and Facebook page for more information.
LawJuan
Are you a budding lawyer? Let LawJuan–an application that provides a complete collection of law sources in the Republic of the Philippines, including repealed and amended laws–help you out.
This application is best for lawyers, law practitioners, and law students as it gives access to a wealth of information about Philippine laws at your fingertips, for only Php 499.
The creators of LawJuan have also developed ‘LawJuan: Constitution,’ ‘LawJuan: Rules of Court,’ and LawJuan: Judisprudence’ for free. LawJuan and its sister applications are available on iOS.
Prison Escape Puzzle Adventure
Do you like escape games? If yes, Prison Escape is perfect for you! Experience finding items and solving the puzzles that will help you escape an old city prison in Alcatraz, or a remote forest island.
Prison Escape Puzzle Adventure is available on iOS and Android for free.
Support and uplift the confidence of our local talents by trying out some Filipino-made mobile apps!
