UP Manila College of Public Health Student Council donation drive for frontliners

Globally, COVID-19 (caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus) has affected more than 2 million people and taken the lives of nearly 160,000. These figures continue to rise everyday, and the number of countries reporting confirmed COVID-19 cases grows by the minute. With the pandemic causing a global threat, billions of people in the world are living anxiously in fear of their lives and of their loved ones and driving major disruptions in the economy and everyday living.

In light of the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak, we, the UP Manila College of Public Health Student Council, together with our college’s alumni, have officially launched the CPHSC COVID-19 Donation Drive. We are calling for donations of any of the following: alcohol, soap, masks (Splash shield, N95, Surgical), fluid repellent shoe cover, disposable gowns, and sterile gloves for the health workers of government hospitals in Metro Manila to protect them and their patients from the spread of COVID-19.

Monetary donations may be deposited to the following bank accounts:

BDO

Account Name: College of Public Health Student Council

Account No.: 003530164237

BPI

Account Name: Alyssa Marie Morabe

Account No.: 1299 1345 78

For any in-kind donations and/or contacts of the supplies needed, please message us at our official Facebook page, UP Manila CPH Student Council (https://www.facebook.com/UPMCPHSC/).

For those who will provide physical donations, kindly submit a form at this link: bit.ly/DonationDriveForFrontliners. We will be using GrabExpress and Transportify to avoid the need to deliver your donations personally. For those who want to donate and/or volunteer for the mobilization, kindly contact Mita Santiago at (0915) 515 9322 or Mika Salanguit at (0917) 162 0030.

We are again called to act as one and gather strength from one another in this time of trial. Your generosity, a simple amount to spare in just a few clicks done in the comforts of your home or other safe spaces, could help provide personal protective equipment (PPE) for many of our health personnel in Metro Manila.

Together, let us help protect our frontliners and finally stop the spread of COVID-19.
