Kalel M. Amarado, a 4-year-old boy from Maasin City, Southern Leyte, can impressively name the different landmarks in the world with his amazing memory.
In a Facebook post by his aunt Maricel Sanchez last July 17, Kalel was seen showcasing his skills and mastery in geography. In the video, he names each landmark being shown to him by his dad, Darrel Amarado, through a set of flash cards.

According to his mom, Mariza Mendoza-Amarado, 42, her son started to learn how to read when he was only 2 years and 4 months old.
“Wala pong nagturo sa kanya. Nagka-idea na po kasi siya sa mga countries kasi po may nag-viral na po siya na video, naming flags ng different countries when he [was] 3 years and 4 months old,” Kalel’s mom said.
(No one taught him. He had an idea of the countries because he also had a viral video before where he was naming flags of different countries, when he was 3 years and 4 months old.)

Last April, they bought him a book of the different landmarks of the world which he started reading. To support their child’s interest, they printed photos of each landmark and tried asking him to name what was shown in the photo.
“Bale kami pa nga po ang parang naturuan nya ma’am kasi ang alam lang namin dati ung mga common [landmarks] lang like Taj Mahal, Eiffel Tower at Mt. Fuji,” Amarado stated.
(Actually, we were the ones who learned from him, because we used to know only the common landmarks, like the Taj Majal, Eiffel Tower and Mt. Fuji.)
Aside from the world landmarks, Amarado said his son also knows different countries, their country flags and capital cities, and even some countries’ national anthems.
Kalel is currently a student in a Nursery 2 class of Maasin Christian Academy in Southern Leyte province. His parents look forward to continuously supporting their son’s knowledge and learning, especially in geography. JB
