MANILA, Philippines – World Balance, the iconic footwear brand since the 80’s has debuted a worthy successor to its successful ODYSSEY collection. Investing in more modern and relevant shoe designs, World Balance has enjoyed a successful re-invention and resurgence the past so many years.

Similar to the ODYSSEY, the METROPOLIS is the newest minimalist “ath-leisure pair” of sock sneakers that feature seamless upper construction with knitted collars that wrap around the ankles.

The METROPOLIS sports the same silhouette as the ODYSSEY yet provides an edgier urban styling using a play of visual and tactile textures brought together by well-placed yet functional rubber pieces.

The newest lifestyle sneaker is made from a knit upper that provides a sock-like fit. The rubber strap across the mid-foot contributes to lateral foot security. A fuse-like material around the sides provides basic protection against usual wear and tear.

While the build is minimalist, there is a heel counter at the back to provide structure and heel support.

During a sneak peak of the collection, Bobby Skyz, Nigeria-born artist, singer-song writer, and Emeralds Music label owner from the United States, and currently based in the Philippines; sporting a pair of the black-on-black METROPOLIS for the photo shoot, described the collection as a “symphony of urban style and comfort”.

“I had the biggest smile on my face when presented with this pair (Metropolis). I was quite impressed with the clean yet edgy design, the comfort is out of this world,” said Skyz. “It’s quite awesome to have comparable quality and styling as other global brands, and yet value for the people’s money,” he further added.

METROPOLIS comes in 2 colorways, black and grey for mens (Php 1,999) and pale grey and white for women (Php 1,799).

The METROPOLIS collection is available in all World Balance stand-alone stores nationwide, and in selected department stores.
