Throughout the years, we’ve seen the beauty and complexity of well-made Philippine movies. From timeless classics like “Insiang” to modern-day blockbusters like “Heneral Luna,” these cinematic masterpieces have shaped and influenced our culture today.
To pay homage to this medium, artist Edz Gatdula recreates posters from some of the best films in Philippine cinematic history. Here are some of his jaw-dropping creations:
Insiang (1976)
Oro, Plata, Mata (1982)
Anak (2000)
Markova: Comfort Gay (2000)
Magnifico (2003)
In Gatdula’s Facebook post, he writes “tatapusin ko yung nasa listahan ko bago matapos ang taon, sobrang abala lang ngayon. Pero sa ngayon, ito muna.”
(I will finish this list of movie posters before the year ends. However, I won’t be able to do it now because of my hectic schedule. For now, I hope you enjoy these [artworks])
We definitely can’t wait to see what Gatdula comes up with next movie but for now, let’s enjoy these unique creations!
