In an effort to keep up with the annual tradition of showcasing the best local music talents on live stage, The Rest Is Noise, an independent music event production based in Metro Manila, will be holding a summer music event featuring international and local artists.
Dubbed Summer Noise, the regional music festival strives to present a carefully curated, multi-genre platform that celebrates top-notch music like no other. The event will be held at Century City Mall Event Space on May 5, 2018, from 2pm onwards.
Headliners include post-rock duo Permanence from Singapore, alternative rock outfit The Sleeves from Hong Kong, electronic vixens X0809 from Thailand, punk rock darlings Tiger Pussy and electro-pop act Mandaue Nights—both from Cebu.
Joining them are some of the finest homegrown talents in the country: IV OF SPADES, BP Valenzuela, Clara Benin, Dicta License., Munimuni, Oh, Flamingo!, Pedicab, Ruru, She’s Only Sixteen, The Ransom Collective, tide/edit, and Tom’s Story.
Hip-hop collective UPRISING will also be mounting a special performance showcase featuring their roster of artists: Kemikal Ali, Dj Arbie Won, KJah, DJ Antsdru, Apoc, DJ Nicko, BLKD, UMPH, Supreme Fist, Juss Rye, Emar Industriya, Plazma The Demented, Illustrado [Batas, Sayadd, Goriong Talas, and Apo Lerma], Kartel (Ilaya + Tala), and Zaito.
The Rest Is Noise has always been a platform for local music fans who want something unusual and obscure in their music fix, and their latest summer offering is keen on tapping Southeast and East Asia’s finest music discoveries—be it indie, alternative, shoegaze, dream-pop, twee, post-rock, math-rock, folk, post hardcore, electronic, IDM, hip-hop, alt-country, R&B, neo-soul, or any genre for that matter.
