A holistic and well-rounded formation has always been one of San Beda University’s goals. Grounded in its core values and principles, and integrating Benedictine hallmarks, the university strongly believes that besides academics, physical activities are also important for a person’s well-being.
This year, San Beda University held its Sports Fest 2024, motivated to unveil the champions through inter-program athletic sports, mind sports, and a highly anticipated first-ever e-sports tournament.
Tournaments for mobile games such as Mobile Legends and Valorant were conducted. However, the university was hindered by a lack of equipment to execute the tournament, given the stimulating and thrilling nature of these games.
Fortunately, driven by the vision of ‘searching the incredible,’ ASUS Philippines teamed up and achieved another significant milestone with San Beda University by providing 10 sets of gaming computers with the necessary specifications, suitable for participating teams to strategize and execute their own RPG and RTS games.
The tournament was attended by professors and students, players, and non-players. With a total of 12 teams participating, one team stood out from the rest and was able to unleash their most ‘incredible roars.’
In the pursuit of the incredible roar during San Beda University’s Sports Fest 2024, ASUS Philippines paved the way for the achievement of the university’s goal to provide a more holistic, well-rounded student formation. This formation is not solely grounded in academic excellence, but also encompasses integral human development and overall well-being. /EJC
