Zayn Malik confesses to reminiscing the good times with One Direction 9 years after leaving the band

Perhaps it’s safe to say that hearing Zayn reminisce about One Direction’s good old days wasn’t on Directioners’ bingo cards, but here we are.

Even though Zayn Malik departed the former X-Factor group nine years ago, he eventually disclosed that he still remembers the time spent with his former band. Previously, the former 1D member returned to the limelight in a recent episode of Stationhead, years after releasing his third studio album ‘Nobody Is Listening.’ Yet, despite being busy promoting his upcoming album, ‘Room Under The Stairs,’ he also shared that he had been enjoying listening to 1D’s decade-plus-old music recently and remembering the good old days he and his bandmates spent in the past.

Although some of Zayn’s seasoned fans fell to sobs by that, he continued, “We made some good music, man,” before acknowledging that the group had been doing rather well in the 2010s. The soloist appears to be reliving what made him who he is now, even after years of not hearing anything about One Direction. After all, their devoted fans were the ones who continued to support him throughout the years.

In the same streaming show, the singer took the audience by surprise by performing You and I, a beloved song by One Direction. The original release of the song occurred in 2014, a year before Malik’s exit from the band.

As Zayn was finally able to reflect on the past, many diehard Directioners are hopeful that this indicates that a band reunion could one day be envisioned.

However, amid the Pillowtalk singer’s nostalgic remarks about bygone eras, the boy group seemed to not be planning a reunion anytime soon. Even so, the musician is happy with his long-awaited album, which will be released on May 17.
