Elijah Woods may not be the well-known Hollywood actor we’re all familiar with, but he is now creating a name for himself as a singer-songwriter. Coming from Canada, he started his own music career four years ago and hasn’t looked back since. Fast forward to today, and his song ’24/7, 365′ is becoming more and more well-known on social media, introducing his music to a wider audience.
Despite sharing a name with the famous actor Elijah Wood, known for his role in The Lord of the Rings, the singer often finds himself caught in amusing scenarios. Whether it’s curious inquiries about the Shire or the whereabouts of the ring, Elijah takes it all in stride, playing along with the mix-up.
In a recent POP! Hangout episode, Elijah shared amusing anecdotes of being mistaken for his namesake. Recounting encounters at airports, he humorously navigates through questions about the Shire and the missing ring, embracing the mix-up with humor. “I don’t know. It’s lost. I can’t find the ring anywhere. I lost it,” he piqued, playing along with the assumptions. But then he realized the obvious height difference between himself and the actor, which probably made other people confirm the mix-up.
For him, one particularly memorable incident involved a flight attendant enthusiastically mistaking him for the actor. She went around spreading the news to other people in the plane and even tried to start a conversation with him. Elijah then felt the need to correct her, saying, “I’m sorry, I’m not Elijah Wood. I’m Elijah Woods with an s.”
The singer will embark on his “Elijah Woods: ily 24/7, 365 Tour” in the Philippines on May 20 at the Podium Hall in Manila.
