LE SSERAFIM’s Yunjin faces backlash after being spotted with a Starbucks drink

Girl group LE SSERAFIM’s Huh Yun-jin is facing backlash from some fans after being spotted drinking coffee from Starbucks amidst controversy surrounding the company’s alleged stance on the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict.

A recent online post revealed that Huh Yunjin has been inundated with fans’ criticism for her beverage choice. The backlash stems from the perception that Starbucks is affiliated with certain political stances, particularly those regarding the Israel-Hamas war.

Some fans took to social media platforms to express their disappointment. Twitter was flooded with tweets expressing frustration and disapproval towards Huh Yunjin’s actions.

One Twitter user lamented, “I repeated my tweet of Yunjin cuz I’m so so disappointed in her. She did it again on purpose. She knows that her fellow company mates apologize for holding a Starbucks (referring to Jake from Enhypen). Even her bestie Somi got cancelled & there’s no way she DID NOT SEE ALL OF THIS.”

Another tweet stated, “Yunjin bought Starbucks bffr,” indicating a sense of betrayal from the fanbase.

“I remember when Yunjin told us she would change the whole kpop industry and now she’s consuming Starbucks,” expressed another disappointed fan, highlighting the perceived contradiction in Yunjin’s actions.

Another tweet echoed the sentiment, simply stating, “Yunjin with Starbucks, I’m tired,” conveying exhaustion with the perceived disconnect between Yunjin’s words and actions. Many others are just disappointed with the idol.

This incident has also led to accusations of performative activism against Huh Yunjin, with international fans questioning the authenticity of her support for causes.

While some fans expressed disappointment, others have come to Huh Yunjin’s defense, emphasizing the importance of separating personal choices from political affiliations. However, the controversy underscores the heightened scrutiny faced by public figures in today’s interconnected world, where even seemingly innocuous actions can spark heated debates and divisions among fans.

As the saga unfolds, it remains to be seen how Huh Yunjin and her management will address the concerns raised by fans, and whether this incident will have any lasting impact on her career.
