Madonna is under another controversy after unintentionally offending a fan who was using a wheelchair at her recent concert in Los Angeles.
In her ‘Celebration Tour stop’ at the Kia Forum in L.A. last March 9, she called out a fan in the crowd for not standing up during her performance. She immediately apologized to the concert goer upon seeing that they were using a wheelchair.
The video of the interaction was captured and posted online. It showed the pop star asking the fan, “What are you doing sitting down over there? What are you doing sitting down?” Afterward, she approached the corner of the stage to get a closer look at the fan and noticed their wheelchair.

“Oh, OK. Politically incorrect. Sorry about that. I’m glad you’re here,” Madonna added before she resumed her performance.
Although she apologized to the fan, it still did not sit well with everyone.
Social media users were quick to respond online upon seeing the video and shared their own thoughts about the awkward interaction.

This has made me really kind of despise Madonna. It’s not “politically incorrect” to question why a wheelchair user is sitting. Whether they’re in a wheelchair or not, it’s simply unkind and unnecessary, she’s a bully. #Disability #ChronicIllness #Ableism #WheelchairUser https://t.co/cr6CXE3XkB

Seriously, Fuck Madonna for this because some ppl have to sit for reasons other than "in a wheelchair" too and you can't tell that by looking at them.
(Me. I am some ppl. I have chronic pain and fatigue and can't stand for very long.) https://t.co/5jIscvPCCs

MADONNA IS TRASH. Her career started 40 years ago and she expects people to stand up the entire time, even when she consistently starts hours late. It’s not that they were in a wheelchair, it’s that they were called out at all. Get a watch and maybe some integrity you fuckin twat pic.twitter.com/NwDGLtWPx0

Bad look all the way around for Madonna. Even if she wasn't in a wheelchair, who the hell is Madonna to dictate how someone enjoys the show? They paid good money to be there and be entertained. @Madonna needs to STFU and perform for the people paying her or go home. https://t.co/quOO9iQyfm

At another point during her show, the singer was joined on stage by artist Kylie Minogue to perform together for the very first time.
They performed a rendition of Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive” and a cover of Minogue’s hit “Can’t Get You Out of My Head.”
Madonna had to postpone her tour last year due to a bacterial infection and had to be admitted to the intensive care unit for several days. The pop star was in an induced coma for 48 hours back in June.
The Celebration Tour highlights the chronicles of the pop star’s decades-long, hit-filled career, which is joined by several special guests while performing the 1990 classic “Vogue” including Pamela Anderson, Amy, Schumer, Julia Garner, and Kelly Ripa to name a few.
