A fan of the satirical animated series “The Simpsons” thinks that the series has predicted the future once again with the disappearance of OceanGate’s submersible this month.
The submersible Titan which was operated by OceanGate was on an expedition to see the wreckage of the Titanic which sank in 1912, and was popularized by the movie of the same name in 1997.
A Twitter user pointed out the eerie similarities in an episode of “The Simpsons” that aired in 2006.

The 10th episode of Season 17 of the series, titled “Homer’s Paternity Coot,” showed Homer Simpson and his long-lost father Mason Fairbanks going underwater to find a treasure.
Under the water, the father and son discovered the remains of a massive ship where they found the treasure before Simpson got stuck within a barrier reef until the submarine got low on oxygen and descend into a coma.
The tweet also pointed out how two of the people in Titan were also father and son like how it shows on “The Simpsons”. Among the passengers aboard the submersible are Pakistani businessman Shahzada Dawood and his son Suleman.
Though it is not exactly what happened to OceanGate’s submersible, the similarity is quite uncanny.
The Titan submersible started its expedition on Sunday, June 18, and vanished two hours into the trip. The said submersible will be able to keep five people alive in the span of four days before it ran out of oxygen.
On June 23, it is presumed that the passengers aboard are already dead as debris from the submersible was found in the search area with a “catastrophic implosion,” said the U.S. Coast Guard.
“The Simpsons” series has often been said to predict real-life events way before they happen, including the election of Donald Trumps as the US President, the invention of smartwatches, and even Lady Gaga’s performance at the Superbowl Halftime Show.
