Squid Game’s Player 001 Oh Young Soo’s recent indictment surprises fans of the actor

Squid Game’s Player 001 Oh Young Soo has another surprise no one expected.

On November 25, 2022, it was first reported that the actor from Netflix’s ‘Squid Game’ Oh Young Soo had been indicted without detention for the charges of indecent assault. It was later on found out that Oh Young Soo was accused of inappropriately touching a woman in 2017.

In December 2021, the police first received a complaint from the victim, who later on forwarded it with the related documents to higher authorities in February 2022. Witnesses and lawyers’ opinions were examined after the prosecution’s request for further investigation, who later on decided to not transfer the case earlier in April.

The victim appealed this decision, leading to the prosecution reinvestigating the case and to Oh Young Soo’s denial of the allegations.

According to Soompi’s report on the news, Oh Young Soo had commented this via JTBC, “I just held her hand to guide the way around the lake. I apologized because [the person] said she wouldn’t make a fuss about it but it doesn’t mean that I admit the charges.”

People online understandably had a variety of reactions towards the actor’s news of arrest.

Following the success of ‘Squid Game’, Oh Young Soo becomes the first South Korean actor to win “Best Supporting Actor” at the Golden Globes last January 10, 2022.
