Watch Daniel Craig’s learned southern accent at play in the first-look trailer of ‘Glass Onion’

There’s a new deadly game of murder in town, and Daniel Craig is back as Detective Benoit Blanc to put the pieces together before the killer strikes again in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery.

The first trailer for Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery has been released on September 8 (Philippine time), giving fans the first look at the puzzling mystery that awaits them.

Set on a Greek private island, Detective Blanc finds himself in a middle of a Greek private island when a murder-mystery game turns deadly after someone dies during a cruise getaway hosted by tech billionaire Miles Bron (played by Edward Norton).

“You expected a mystery. You expected a puzzle. But for one person on the island, this is not a game,” Craig’s character says in the trailer.

The clip also shows Craig reprising his role as Detective Blanc, as well as the film’s star-studded ensemble who makes their debut as Blanc’s potential suspects in this deadly game of murder, including Madelyn Cline, Jessica Henwick, Ethan Hawke, Kate Hudson, Edward Norton, Kathryn Hann, Janelle Monáe, Dave Bautista, and Leslie Odom Jr.

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery is one of the two sequels to the 2019 film Knives Out, which saw Detective Blanc’s journey in investigating and solving the death of Harlan Thrombey, a best-selling crime novelist and the patriarch of the Thrombey family. The prequel has received positive feedback from critics and it gained numerous awards and nominations.

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery is helmed by director Rian Johnson, who also served as the film’s writer and producer, along with Ram Bergman.

The news about Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery was first confirmed in early 2020 and began production in Greece in June 2021.

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery will premiere soon to select theaters and on Netflix on December 23 of this year.
