‘Euphoria’ season 3 renewal has fans divided

On February 5, Euphoria actor Angus Cloud – playing the crowd-favorite character of genial and affable drug dealer Fezco – announced that HBO had renewed the series for season 3, which made fans go berserk on Twitter dot com.

Throughout the release of Euphoria’s second season on January 9 and as it continues to air one episode every week, the show’s viewership rating persistently climbs higher.

According to Deadline,  the second season’s premiere garnered 2.4 million viewers throughout all its platforms, making it the highest digital performance amongst all HBO shows. So, it was not a surprise when the news about the renewal for season 3 was announced.

Of course, Euphoria’s devoted fans can’t contain their anticipation and excitement about the series’ renewal, taking their unparalleled elation on Twitter.

Twitter user ‘out of context euphoria’ tweets a screenshot of Rue Bennett – played by Zendaya – with the caption that said: I’m just so happy.

It’s true… it’s true. We are still in need of another season of Maddy Perez (Alexa Demie) flaunting her iconic ‘Euphoria High’ fashion.

Though fans are over the moon about the renewal, some are not too pleased with the news – expressing their dissatisfaction towards the series’ creator, writer, and director Sam Levinson about where the show’s plot is heading this season.

As much as fans want Euphoria season 3, they also ask for Sam Levinson to work with other writers to deter the plot from dragging on.

Knowing how Hunter Schafer participated in writing for her character Jules Vaughn’s special episode in Euphoria, fans want the actress to co-write the next season of the series.

Whether it’s poorly written or not, after the release of each episode, Euphoria remains the most talked-about series right now – trending as soon as an episode drops over the weekend.

With the entertaining responses from its viewers and their unrelenting discourse about the characters’ actions and decisions – breeding think pieces and memes after every episode – it’s as if everyone’s just watching it like it’s reality TV at this point. And maybe that might just be the best way to perceive it – from all the drama and suspense that’s been going on.

Euphoria centers on the lives of a group of high school students with Rue (Zendaya) narrating the events that unfold throughout how the characters experience love, explore sexuality, grief, addiction, and depression while traversing the unpredictable occurrences during high school.

As of writing, the series has aired 5 out of its 8 episodes, already halfway until the season finale.
