Lil Nas X reveals that he turned down a role on HBO’s Euphoria

When Lil Nas X said “I ain’t layin’ low” in his song “Industry Baby,” he definitely wasn’t messing around. At the age of 22, the rapper is quickly rising to fame as both a singer and a queer icon. Lil Nas’ music career is going really well, but did you know that he had a chance to explore an acting career too?

In a cover story by Variety, the “Industry Baby” singer revealed that he had been offered a chance to try out acting with a high-profile role on HBO’s series Euphoria. However, Lil Nas decided to turn down the role to focus more on his music since he has an album on the way.

“I definitely want to get into acting, but I feel I have to give it my all, and I want to focus on music for right now. I want my first movie to be amazing,” said the 22-year-old singer.

Lil Nas X also made a Tweet to clarify that he didn’t turn down the acting gig because he was “too good for Euphoria”, even saying that the HBO drama is “one of [his] favorite shows right now.”

Fans on Twitter have expressed that they would have wanted to see the rapper on the HBO series. Some also said that they respect and support his decision to focus on his music career for now.

For now, Lil Nas is focused on finishing his upcoming album Montero. But who knows, after he drops his album, maybe he’ll get back to the idea of exploring an acting career. Considering we’ve seen him act in his music videos — particularly his “Industry Baby” music video where he played multiple roles — an acting career might suit him pretty well too.

Is it too early to keep our fingers crossed for Lil Nas to be on season 3 of Euphoria?
