New look at the live-action ‘Lilo & Stitch’ highlights key characters from the story

Walt Disney Studios has released a new look at the live-action version of “Lilo & Stitch.”

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the studio wrote, “You sure that’s a dog?” accompanied by a suspicious face emoji.

The 30-second clip, released ahead of the film’s premiere, reveals some of the most beloved characters from the original animated feature.

Agent Pleakley and Doctor Jumba portrayed by Billy Magnussen and Zach Galifianakis respectively, will not stop until they get their hands back on Stitch.

The cute alien eventually found his way to Earth after escaping the United Galactic Federation’s grasp. This is how Lilo, played by Maia Kealoha, and Stitch meet. The plot of this contemporary Disney classic revolves around the friendship that develops between the two.

Viewers were also introduced to the Grand Councilwoman, who will be voiced by Hannah Waddingham, as seen in the new look at Lilo & Stitch. The actor who is playing the head of the United Galactic Federation is prepared to play the role.

Disney has selected Dean Fleischer Camp as the director to add his own vision to the Lilo & Stitch story.

People then took to social media to share their thoughts on the new look of the film that has been posted.

Stitch’s charisma and broad appeal are being used by the studio as one of the film’s main selling factors. Twenty years ago, this story was one of the studio’s most popular animated productions.

A few months ago, Mufasa: The Lion King was released, continuing the trend. Snow White gave the traditional Disney princess a fresh look after transporting viewers to the Pride Lands.

Lilo & Stitch is the most recent attempt by Disney to transform its critically acclaimed animated films into universally appealing live-action blockbusters. The film is premiering in theaters on May 23.
