NCTzens fasten your seatbelts, NCT 2021 is coming soon

NCT isn’t quite done with their 2021 activities – they’ve been booked and busy this entire year.

After wrapping up NCT 127’s promotions for their latest repackaged album “Favorite”, NCT and their label SM Entertainment finally confirmed the return of the entire NCT lineup for their next album.

On November 13, 2021 at 12 M.N. KST, NCT announced the name of their 3rd studio album, “NCT 2021 Universe”, which will be released on December 14, 2021. All of NCT and its respective sub-units’ accounts changed their layouts to the same concept: the ‘2021’ logo in futuristic typography on a black background. All of the accounts also posted a project plan or blueprint styled poster, signaling the beginning of the “NCT 2021 Universe” era.

NCT has previously released 2 studio albums as a full group—“NCT 2018 Empathy”, where Lucas, Jungwoo, and Kun were announced as new members, and “NCT 2020 Resonance”, where the entire WayV lineup were inducted into SM’s “unlimited boy group” concept, along with Sungchan and Shotaro. Rumors are spreading that another member will be added to the group, making the full NCT lineup amounting to 24 members.

NCTzens everywhere have been anticipating this news ever since the confirmation of SM Entertainment of having an NCT 2021 project this year. The topic “NCT 2021” immediately rose up to Twitter’s trending list, where fans all gushed about what they want to see in this year’s NCT assembly (Think of it as like the Avengers but..yeah).

NCT 2020 Resonance era, you have served us well. NCT isn’t just here to play, they’re here to slay everyone’s December. Obviously, our pockets aren’t ready for this yet.
