MAMAMOO’s Solar surprises fans with performance of BINI’s ‘Pantropiko’

MAMAMOO Solar has finally started her solo tour with Manila being her first stop after her first show in Korea. The Korean singer and theater actress brought ‘COLOURS’ to Manila after the release of her second mini album titled “COLOURS” containing six songs on the tracklist last April 30.

Previously, Solar, along with the other members of MAMAMOO, held their first-ever concert in Manila in February last year. Now, as the group’s leader, she has decided to perform solo, reaching out to her fans worldwide.

After performing songs from her latest album, Solar surprised her fans, known as Yongwangnims, by performing the currently trending song in the Philippines, “Pantripiko” by BINI. The singer impressed the audience with her precise enunciation of Filipino words, earning her the endearing nickname “Mhiema Solar,” colloquially meaning “mother.”

Fans noted that Solar’s flawless pronunciation was a testament to her dedication to delivering the best performance possible for her fans, always ensuring they receive the utmost enjoyment from her stage presence.

Fan videos of her singing “Pantropiko” during the concert went viral on X (Twitter), with both fans and various social media users recognizing her voice.

While some fans are happy that Solar get to perform it while holding a Pride flag handed by a fan, especially with the fact that majority of MAMAMOO’s fans are members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

On the other hand, old videos of BINI mentioning and performing MAMAMOO’s song resurfaced with both moomoo and BLOOMS jokingly asking for a collaboration of the two powerful girl groups.

@mamamoowillcontinue Solar’s tagalog is very on point. While another old video captured BINI Mikha mentioning that Solar is actually her bias in MAMAMOO.

Solar is set to continue her COLOURS tour in Kaohsiung, Japan, Hong Kong, Taipei, and Macau.
