Lil Nas X appeared on Saturday Night Live (SNL) on May 22 and performed “MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)” and his new single “Sun Goes Down”.
During his performance for “MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)”, the 22-year-old singer’s pants ripped just when he was about to perform his pole dance routine.
Lil Nas X couldn’t finish his pole dance because of his wardrobe malfunction, but that didn’t faze him. After the show, the singer tweeted: “i wanted to do my pole routine so bad this is what I get lmaoo”. He continued tweeting about it, making fun of what happened.

Lil Nas X admitted in a tweet that he was “afraid to even perform.” He also mentioned in his tweet that they rehearsed for the performance for two weeks, but then the dancers had to be changed because one had COVID, so the new dancers had only 24 hours to learn the routine.
at first i was afraid to even perform. then we rehearsed for 2 weeks, then all of the dancers got removed because one had covid and new ones had to learn the routine in 24 hours, and then i ended up ripping my pants and couldn’t finish. everything happens for a reason tho lol🤍

In his recent appearance as a guest on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Lil Nas X talked about his performance at Saturday Night Live (SNL) and his pants ripping.
The singer retold the moment his pants ripped in the middle of his performance and how he reacted to it. Jimmy Fallon then played footage of the singer’s dress rehearsal for the performance, showing how the routine would have gone. Lil Nas X was supposed to finish the pole dance with both knees around the pole, which probably would’ve been difficult to do given the pants rip.
