The Philippines’ largest educational kids’ fair, going on its sixth year, opens its doors anew for families to enjoy a weekend teeming with bonding activities. SmartKids Asia Philippines (SmartKids), takes place Feb. 1 and 2, 2020, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., at Halls 3 and 4 of the SMX Convention Center, SM Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City. It offers parents and children opportunities to spend time together and experience cultural, educational, and social extravaganzas.
A unique bonding for the family
The kids’ fair is one of the largest events for family activities in the country, with an average yearly attendance of more than 46,000. Over 30 exhibitors will present a wide array of experiences for everyone including interactive stage performances, mascot appearances, fashion shows, dance numbers, a quiz show, art sessions, just to name a few.
Opening Ceremonies
For its sixth year, SmartKids sports a refreshing new look as the 2-day fair features different brands that focus on education, health, and family. As early as 9 a.m., fair-goers can experience energetic performances that will start with the Dasma Creative (DC) Brass Band at the opening ceremonies.
The month of love also kicks off at SmartKids as the first day chooses the winners for the My Little Cupid Costume Contest, a costume contest where children between 3 and 12 years old show off their best cupid costume to win archery lessons from co-presenter Archery 101 worth up to PHP 10,000.
After the ribbon-cutting ceremony, SmartKids will open its doors to fair-goers where they will be treated to a parade around the event and another performance by the marching band on stage.
Smart Stage
Highlights of the event include stage performances from different exhibitors that explore and focus on building blocks of a happy child and a strong family relationship for lifelong benefits. Some of these include storytelling activities, a number of dance performances, and mascot appearances.
Brand exhibitors that will make a stage performance include a mascot presentation of Super Kwell and Bad Kuto from Aspen; a special guest appearance of Team Kramer from brand partner Tempra; and a dance performance with mascots Sgt. March and Mommy Ellie with Sky Ranch, among others.
Smart Classrooms
Smart Classrooms give learning and fun a new twist. These classes, presented by different brands, include lego building, cooking demos, art workshops, and other activities that tickle family imagination.
Different classes include a hair hygiene, skin and dry skin lecture by Kwell and Bio-Oil, a brand presentation on Tempra, Tempracof, Temprazin and Vivalyte; and a trial class that uses Lego kits to build exciting models and robots, and many more.
Quest Guides
Fair-goers will receive a Quest Guide that they need to complete during the two-day event. They will have to roam around the event and visit specific booths that will award them with stamps. Families are entitled to receive special loot bags if they present a completed Stamp Page.
Costume Contest
Those attending the second day of the event can also enjoy more prizes as SmartKids will present its Matchy-Matchy Family Contest. Families with three or more members can participate and the best one in their “terno” outfits will receive an overnight stay at LimaPark Hotel, the only 4-star hotel in the province of Batangas.
