LOOK: This couple found the humor in their engagement photo fail

These days, wedding photos are no longer enough to document the love between a couple. Many now choose to have photo shoots to mark their engagement, hoping to capture the romance between them.

A couple from Michigan, USA, set out to re-create a picture on Pinterest where a man pours champagne into a woman’s mouth while on a picnic. The photo peg was taken by Brianna Bender Martin.

Collin Hewett shared his attempt with fiancee Alyssa Snodsmith on Twitter last Sunday, Oct. 20, showing a real-life example of expectations versus reality. Their version, shot by Chandler Hefever, drew laughs, with nearly half a million likes as of this writing.

The champagne is seen spraying not only on Snodsmith’s mouth but also on her shirt, and Hewett owned up to the photo fail. “[Alyssa] found a Pinterest picture that she wanted to try and recreate. I botched it,” he wrote.

He explained to Time in a report on Tuesday, Oct. 22: “I was trying so hard to pour it slowly that when it started to kind of trickle out at the end, I over-adjusted and it came pouring out all over her.”

He said he “felt so bad” at what he had done, but Snodsmith took it in stride and laughed at the situation.

“Relationships are meant to be fun and if you can’t laugh through the hard stuff and mistakes it might not be worth it,” he said.

The two fortunately had another set of clothes and were able to complete the shoot without any more accidents.  Niña V. Guno /ra
