South Korean singer and actor Ok Taecyon shocked the internet with alleged engagement photos in Paris which quickly drew speculations on social media.
With the Eiffel Tower at the backdrop, the photo featured Taecyon down on one knee with a ring in hand joined by his longtime non-showbiz girlfriend.
The couple’s photos were originally posted on Instagram under the account of The Best Photo Paris, which offers professional photo sessions around the city. These snaps rapidly circulated on various social media platforms and the couple was flooded with well wishes and congratulations.
Later that day, Taecyon’s agency, 51k clarified that “Those photos were not taken as part of a marriage proposal.” They furthered that the photos were previously taken back in 2024 to celebrate the birthday of Taecyon’s girlfriend. The agency expressed that the photos were supposed to be a private moment for the couple, but were unfortunately leaked.
51k furthered that there are “no immediate plans for marriage” on the actor’s end at this point. But, they’re not factoring out the idea that Taecyon will eventually tie the knot “when the timing is right.” They also assured that the actor had remained in a good relationship with his girlfriend even after the sudden revelation of their relationship in public.
The Best Photo Paris had also posted an apology on their account. They stated that their team had no prior knowledge of who the actor was, stating, “We did not know that they were a big Korean celebrity.”
The couple apparently booked the photography session as a “regular person” without any related contacts. They have also sent their apologies to Taecyon and his girlfriend and had also taken action to archive their post, “There was never any intention to expose your relationship or [his] girlfriend’s face.”
Taecyeon rose to fame as a member of a Korean boy group ‘2PM.’ He had also been a part of successful K-dramas such as ‘Dream High’ back in 2011 and the 2021 Netflix series ‘Vincenzo.’
