Another Filipina was recognized by international artists, proving that Filipinos are unbeatable in singing!
Winter Sheason Nicole, an emerging Filipino star in the drag community, wowed international audiences with a standout live performance of Minnie Riperton’s iconic song Lovin’ You, adding her twist by singing live, complete with the famously challenging whistle notes.
Typically, drag queens opt for lip-sync performances showcasing their fashion, often combining theatrical expression with dance. However, Winter took a different approach that evening.
Her live vocals showcased her remarkable range and demonstrated a rare technical mastery, even among seasoned singers. The high and whistle notes that Nicole flawlessly executed left the audience stunned, proving that her talent goes beyond the usual boundaries of drag performance.
Winter’s performance wasn’t just a hit with the crowd; it also impressed two internationally renowned Southeast Asian drag queens that night: Plastique Tiara from Vietnam and Thailand’s Pangina Heals.
Both queens are known for their exceptional drag careers, having competed on the global stage of RuPaul’s Drag Raceand its international spin-offs. The fact that they both watched and celebrated Winter’s performance added to the moment’s gravity.
Plastique and Pangina were visibly taken aback by Winter’s incredible talent, showering her with tips and cheers. This act is a common form of appreciation in drag, significantly when a performer surpasses all expectations. The two queens showed their love through generous tipping and showered her with praise on social media afterward.
Despite her outstanding performance, Winter later revealed on an Instagram post that she had been nervous before taking the stage.

“I am super duper happy as in malala [hard] seeing all their reactions, but the truth is, I was nervous while singing this song,” she confessed.
However, her nerves didn’t hold her back from delivering an unforgettable rendition of Lovin’ You; her genuine humility only added to her charm.
Pangina Heals, visibly impressed by the performance, called Winter a “beast” in response to her gratitude post on social media. “YOU R A BEAST seriously one of the best things I heard in my life period,” Pangina exclaimed, echoing the sentiments of many in the audience who were left in awe of the performance.
Winter’s recognition by fellow queens and international fans underscores a broader truth: Filipino talent continues to shine globally, especially in creativity and performance art. Whether in singing competitions or drag shows, Filipinos are proving time and again that they possess an unbeatable combination of artistry, skill, and heart.
Her moment in the spotlight represents another victory for Filipino representation, reminding the world that Filipino drag queens deserve recognition and celebration, like all Filipino performers.
With her live performance, Winter broke barriers and demonstrated that drag is not just about glamour and lip-syncing—it’s also about showcasing versatile talent. Her success will undoubtedly inspire more Filipina drag queens to take bold steps and claim their place in the international drag scene.
