Chappell Roan snaps at a photographer at the VMA red carpet

Chappell Roan was recorded on video snapping at a photographer during the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards.

When Roan was posing for pictures on the red carpet, a photographer angrily yelled at the pop sensation, “Shut the f–k up.”

After the crude remark was made, she spun around right away, pointing her finger at the photographer, and said, “You shut the f–k up.”

“Don’t! Not me, b—h!” the “Good Luck, Babe!” the singer exclaimed as a voice in the background encouraged her, saying, “Tell ‘em, girl!”

Roan later on explained what happened during the heated encounter.

“This is quite overwhelming and quite scary. For someone who gets a lot of anxiety around people yelling at you, the carpet is horrifying and I yelled back. You don’t get to yell at me like that, the singer told Entertainment Tonight.

Roan donned a sheer maroon dress on the red carpet. She wore a light green cloak, a sword, a long necklace with a cross, and long, pointed fingernails as part of her medieval-inspired look.

She won best new artist during the ceremony and sang her hit song, “Good Luck, Babe!”

The singer’s viral red carpet moment after previously accusing some of her fans of stalking, harassment, and predatory behavior on social media.

“For the past 10 years I’ve been going nonstop to build my project and it’s come to the point that I need to draw lines and set boundaries. I want to be an artist for a very very long time,” she shared in a long Instagram post.

“I just need to lay it out and remind youm women don’t owe you s–t,” she continued. “I chose this career path because I love music and art and honoring my inner child, I do not accept harassment of any kind because I chose this path, nor do I deserve it.”
