On April 1, the iHeartRadio Music Awards was held, and new categories were added this year.
SZA became the star of the night by winning almost all of the major awards, even appearing surprised herself as she clinched victories in four major categories for which she was nominated. On stage, she stood beside her partner, delivering a speech thanking everyone for their support for her music.

SZA’s awards include: Song of the Year for “Kill Bill,” R&B Song of the Year for “Snooze,” R&B Album of the Year for “SOS,” and “R&B Artist of the Year.”
Taylor Swift, on the other hand, also did not disappoint–winning five categories with songs that she had already released years ago. With her influence in Western music, her name had already set the bar high for new musicians wanting to make the same impact as she did. However, because of her busy schedule around her Eras Tour, as well as her upcoming new album this April 19, the pop star was not able to attend the ceremony, but still made a video dedication in gratitude for all the people who supported and voted for her. “Thank you for voting in this incredible honor, Artist of the Year. I am so blown away and thankful. I just can’t wait to keep having fun with you guys because we have a lot of exciting things coming up.”
Taylor Swift received “Artist of the Year,” “Pop Artist of the Year,” “Best Lyrics” for the song “Is It Over Now? (Taylor’s Version),” “TikTok Bop of the Year” for the song “Cruel Summer,” and “Favorite Tour Style.”
Not only did the iHeartRadio Music Awards grant awards for different Western artists, but new categories were also included, this year recognizing the talents and contributions of K-pop genre in uplifting the music industry. A few K-pop artists that won are FIFTY FIFTY with K-pop Song of the Year for their song Cupid, NewJeans for winning Best New Artist (K-pop), and BTS Jungkook for winning both K-pop Artist of the Year and Best Music Video with his song, Seven. The fandom of BTS (BTS Army) also won the category for Best Fan Army.
