Denise Julia addresses issues regarding the royalties to her music

The Philippines has a new up-and-coming R&B artist in the making, and she’s our “resident baddie,” Denise Julia.

Rising to popularity back in 2022 on social media with her song “NVMD,” she’s reached new heights with her debut album “Sweet Nothings (Chapter 1),” with its lead single “Lackin’” and viral R&B track “B.A.D.,” where she featured rapper P-Flo.

She also collaborated with artists such as Norwegian-Filipina HILLARI, and popular R&B singer Jason Dhakal in her songs “Roster” and “Bum 2 Me”, and her constant producers Joel Tracks, J. Greg, and Duaneinsane for this album.

Her monthly listeners on Spotify have also reached 4,849,753 and she has been reigning as the Top OPM Filipina artist on Spotify PH’s charts for 65 days as of writing.

Denise Julia has also become quite the social media personality, with her followers on Instagram reaching about 210k, and her TikTok followers being 768.5k. She also began posting vlogs on her YouTube channel as well, beginning with a “Denise Julia make-up tutorial.”

While this multi-talented R&B star has been definitely soaring, not everyone seemed to be quite happy with how things have been allegedly going on behind the scenes.

Recently, Denise Julia has become embroiled in rumors that she allegedly was not paying the producers of her song “NVMD,” which had catapulted her to mainstream popularity and virality on TikTok.

The issue was mostly talked about on Facebook, where people on that app and site usually resort to name-calling (estafadora), borderline sexual harassment, and well, typical misogynistic Filipino cyber-behavior.

Some have also messaged Denise Julia herself, to which she has called out for being extremely inappropriate.

Days after the rumor had started circulating, Denise Julia replied to one X account’s direct message, explaining the entire thing, and even attached proof of the email that her legal team had sent to the legal team of the producers.

The “Lackin’” singer also replied to a post on X, also explaining why there was a renegotiation happening between her and the producers involved.

After seeing proof that Denise Julia was handling the matters regarding the royalties with her legal team in private, her fans, “Bilatz”, were quick to defend the R&B singer from all the hate she’s been receiving.

In light of all the hate and inappropriate comments and messages she’s been receiving, Denise Julia had nothing else to say but kindness—which could be seen in her most recent posts on X.

So, Facebook misogynists. The ball is now in your hands. Time to think about what you say and do towards people because your rat-ass behaviors are stinking up the place.
