Well, it’s not happening…

South Korean television network tvN responded to the reports about ‘Hospital Playlist’ prequel and said that it is not true.

On June 1, several South Korean media outlets reported that tvN has begun productions on the prequel of ‘Hospital Playlist’ focusing on the college years of the characters, 20 years before the time of ‘Hospital Playlist’s Seasons 1 and 2,’ making fans of the series excited.

In the report, it states that the prequel series will not be directed by the series’ main director, Shin Won Ho, and would instead be participating as one of its creators.

Additionally, it states that it will have a different set of casts playing the roles of the main characters, including young Lee Ik Joon, Chae Song Hwa, Kim Jun Wan, Ahn Jeong Won, and Yang Seok Hyung – and that the production team is currently conducting auditions for it.

However, according to tvN’s official statement, none of it is true aside from some information, “It is true that there is a drama being planned with PD Shin Won Ho participating as the creator. But it’s not a prequel or spin-off of ‘Hospital Playlist’ at all,” as translated by a South Korean media outlet.

tvN also mentioned that they’re currently in the process of auditioning for actors for that drama and it’s in the early stages of production.

The ‘Hospital Playlist’ series had been well-acclaimed and well-received, being two of the highest-rated Korean Drama of all time.
