American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift is now the second wealthiest female musician in America of all time, according to Forbes.
The 33-year-old singer is reported to have a net worth of $740 million surpassing GRAMMY Awards-winning Beyoncé Knowles with $540 million and Queen of Pop Madonna with $580 million.
Swift ranks at No.34 in the overall ‘Self-Made Women’ list, jumping 14 spots from No.48, but is still behind singer and businesswoman Rihanna who doubled Swift’s net worth with $1.4 billion, putting her at No.20.
Though Rihanna came first, Forbes attributes her source of wealth to her music and her cosmetic lines, Fenty Beauty and Savage x Fenty, which is the major contributor to her wealth. Whereas Swift’s music is the only one listed as her source of wealth.
Forbes also noted that Swift added more to her fortune that any other celebrity this past year, with an increase of $170 million to her net worth, which is attributed to the release of her new album Midnights in October 2022 and the launch of her world tour The Eras Tour in March.
Her 10th studio album Midnights made her the first artist in Billboard Hot 100’s history to claim all the top 10 spots within a single time frame, which is led by her lead single “Anti-Hero” at No.1.
On the other hand, her The Eras Tour sold over 2 million tickets in a single day, making it the most tickets sold for an artist in a single day on Ticketmaster, and crashing the company’s website, literally.
Forbes is expecting her net worth to jump even higher as her tour goes on, with the assumption that her world tour would gross a whopping $1.5 billion.
As such, Swift recently announced that her tour would include more shows in Latin America with more international dates to come soon, which will add more to her net worth at the end of the tour.
