Months after he was reported missing, the body of South American soap opera actor Jefferson Machado was found in a truck, which was buried outside a residence in Campo Grande in Brazil.
According to a report, authorities found Machado’s body in a trunk, which was covered in cement. It was said that the late actor’s friend rented the house where his body was discovered. Machado’s friend is now under investigation.
Machado, who was a well-known soap opera actor, was an actor in the soap “Reis” before he went missing.
Jairo Magalhae Pereira, the attorney of the Machado family released a statement on Facebook confirming the death of the soap opera actor.
He stated that Machado’s body shows signs of strangulation. “This discovery confronts us with the cruelty present in our society, motivating us to seek truth and justice in the face of such impactful cases,” said in the statement.
The attorney stated that he is on a mission to be close to the investigations.
“Preliminary information indicates that the actor’s body was found in a trunk, buried in a hole of considerable depth. This situation deeply saddens us and indignant in the face of the suffering faced by Jeff,” the statement added.
The attorney said that he is committed to finding truth and justice. He added that it is his responsibility to make sure that those involved in the case will be punished and held accountable, and that the family of the late actor will be given the support to get through the painful time they are in.
The actor was first reported missing in January 27, after the eight dogs he had were all found abandoned.
