Sam Raimi open to work on Spider-Man 4 with Tobey Maguire

Fans of the original Spider-Man trilogy with Sam Raimi should be excited. The fan favorite director said in an interview with Moviepilot that he is “completely open” to working on another Spider-Man movie with Tobey Maguire.

We know that Raimi is working on one of the biggest MCU movies right now – Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. We also know that even Tobey reprised his role as Peter Parker and Spidey to help Tom Holland and Andrew Garfield in Spider-Man: No Way Home. So it’s possible that both Raimi and Maguire can go back for another shot at the Wall-Crawler.

Raimi had to say this about the prospects of another Spider-Man movie: “I didn’t think it was possible but after jumping back in with the multiverse, I realized that anything is possible now so I’m completely open to it.”

He continues and talks about how much he’d love to work with Tobey Maguire and even Kirsten Dunst (MJ Watson) in another movie.

“I’ve come to realize after making Doctor Strange that anything is possible, really anything in the Marvel universe, any team-ups,” he continues as says, “I love Tobey. I love Kirsten Dunst. I think all things are possible. I don’t really have a story or a plan. I don’t know if Marvel would be interested in that right now. I don’t know what their thoughts are about that. I haven’t really pursued that. But it sounds beautiful. Even if it wasn’t a Spider-Man movie, I’d love to work with Tobey again, in a different role.”

Even if Spider-Man 4 does happen, let’s hope that Sony gives more creative freedom to the director. It is quite known that there was a lot of intervention from the Sony higher-ups that caused Raimi’s Spider-Man 3 script to be subpar and something that he is not necessarily proud of.
