On April 4, 2022 at 6 P.M. KST, Suho released his second solo mini-album titled “Grey Suit” along with the music video for the title track of the same name. This marks his return to music after his mandatory military service as a public service from May 14, 2020 to February 13, 2022.
Prior to his military service, Suho debuted as a solo artist with his EP, “Self Portrait” with the lead single “Let’s Love” on March 30, 2020. The EP topped iTunes charts around the world and reached a double-crown on the Gaon Album Chart. With the release of his new mini-album, EXO-Ls are confident that the album will surely reach even higher achievements.
“Grey Suit” consists of 6 songs, including the lead single of the same name. During the press conference for his newest EP, Suho described the album as a “repayment to the people who waited for him.” He continued by saying, it’s an album that has a lot of my color that contains the stories I wanted to tell for two years, so please listen, and love it a lot.”
The mini album’s title track, “Grey Suit”, is described as a “progressive rock genre song with a sentimental band sound and powerful string line.” Lyrically, the song expresses overcoming empty times that feel “grey” and finding color when one meets someone again. Suho himself participated in the composition of the song’s lyrics.
In the accompanying music video, Suho is seen singing with a live band with scenes varying in color and vibe. In one scene, we see numerous grey suits as Suho goes through them. In another, changing from the pink flannel top we see him wearing, he changes into a suit. This embodies the song’s lyrics in a visual and detailed manner.
EXO-Ls were emotional as the musical comeback of the boy group’s leader started trending on social media. They welcomed Suho back by trending hashtags “#SUHO_GreySuit”, “#SUHO”, and other related topics all over social media platforms.
