John Krasinski and Steve Carell to reunite for Krasinski’s new project ‘IF’

John Krasinski and Steve Carell of the sitcom The Office are getting back together on screen, but not as Jim and Michael. No, it’s even better – the actors will be reuniting in their first professional collaboration in Krasinski’s next film project IF.

Steve Carell joins the cast of the movie IF,which is set to premiere on Nov. 17, 2023. The two actors are reunited on screen once again in their first professional collaboration since the sitcom show The Office.

As fans anticipate this reunion, Carell and Krasinski have reconnected virtually via video chat in 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic. They celebrated the beloved series’ 15th anniversary on John Krasinski’s YouTube show Some Good News.

IF is based on Krasinski’s original idea that leans towards a fantasy-comedy genre. The story is not yet fully disclosed, but it has been revealed that it will focus on a child that seeks to rediscover their imagination. Krasinski will not only direct the film, but he will also write, produce, and star in it.

Other cast includes former co-star Steve Carell, Alan Kim, Cailey Fleming, Louis Gossett Jr., and Ryan Reynolds. Krasinksi and Carell aren’t the only actors reuniting for the project –Fiona Shaw and Phoebe Waller-Bridge will also have their first collaboration since season one of Killing Eve.

To his excitement, Krasinsky shared on Instagram a collage photo of the cast and captioned “Ah, what if one day I could assemble my dream cast? What… IF”.
