Tifa Lockhart is one of the most popular characters from the Final Fantasy series, and now she’s more popular than ever thanks to Final Fantasy VII Remake. Tifa’s design includes a really long hairstyle, with her hair going past her hips and tied near the end with a ribbon. A fan on Twitter recently shared an idea that asks the question: What would Tifa look like with short hair?
An artist who goes by the name Strawderryst on Twitter posted a tweet saying that fans could “arrange a flash mob” with art portraying Tifa with short hair so that Square Enix will notice it and possibly incorporate it into the game for continuity purposes, like to explain her hair length in Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. This is because in Advent Children, which is set two years after the events of Final Fantasy VII, Tifa is portrayed with a shorter hairstyle than in her in-game design, with her hair being mid-back length.
Strawderryst then decided to start the trend by sharing her own take on Tifa having short hair, along with the hashtag #TifaShortHair.

A modder also contributed to the trend by making a mod of Tifa with short hair for Dissidia Final Fantasy NT so players can kick some tail as while serving looks with a new hairdo.
Female characters having short hair isn’t really all that uncommon these days, but hey, it’s nice to see something new, right? The #TifaShortHair challenge has shown that Tifa can also rock a short hairstyle. Plus it gives fans opportunities to make more fanart of her while exploring a slightly different design, which is a great way for them to show some more love for a dearly beloved character.
