Students’ National Chemical Engineering Conference (SNCEC) 2020 goes online

Spearheaded by UP Chemical Engineering Society, Inc., one of the biggest student-organized  annual chemical engineering events in the country will now be held fully online and for free! Aspiring  chemical engineers can now register and get the chance to discover, challenge, and connect at  sncec.upkem.org

The Students’ National Chemical Engineering Conference, more popularly known as SNCEC, is one of  the country’s biggest student-organized annual chemical engineering events. Spearheaded by UP  Chemical Engineering Society, Inc. (UP KEM), SNCEC aims to connect future chemical engineers from all  over the country, to share the latest trends and innovations in the field, and to promote friendly competition  through its subevents. This year, in the face of the unique challenges posed by the ongoing COVID-19  pandemic, SNCEC will be held fully online and for free so that all chemical engineering students across the  Philippines can still have the chance to discover, challenge, and connect with their peers at the comfort of  their own homes.

One of the two much-awaited subevents this year is the National Chemical Engineering Symposium (NACHES), a four-part event to be held over two weekends. NACHES provides an avenue for students to  learn about the challenges, opportunities, and innovations in different fields of chemical engineering.  Speakers from various backgrounds are invited to share their knowledge and expertise in a series of  seminar and workshop sessions. In light of the ongoing pandemic, the event’s theme this year puts a  spotlight on the roles of chemical engineers in healthcare and medicine. Sessions will be dedicated to  Pharmaceutical Production, Disinfectants and Antiseptics, Biomedical Engineering, and Medical Device  Manufacturing. NACHES will be held in the afternoon on November 14 to 15 and 21 to 22, 2020 via Zoom  and will be streamed as well on YouTube.

On the other hand, the Students’ Chemical Engineering Networking Event (SCENE), is a company  mixer that has been at the forefront of connecting students to the chemical engineering industry. In this  event, aspiring chemical engineers will be given a glimpse of the professional life as well as career  opportunities in the field by interacting and sharing insights with professionals from top engineering  companies in the country. SCENE will be held in the evening on November 13 to 15, 2020 via Zoom.

Come join us and be at the forefront of rising trends and innovations in chemical engineering at this year’s  SNCEC, this coming November!
