Paimon’s voice actor Corina Boettger calls for support over financial difficulties

Paimon’s voice actor Corina Boettger is calling for support over financial difficulties.

In a post they made via X (formerly Twitter), they wrote, “Hey all, I am really in a bind financially & I really need help.”

They disclosed that the continuous strike has a major effect on both them and their partner, making it difficult for their partner to find a new job.

Boettger also brought up their own disability, which makes it more difficult for them to get stable employment.

As a result, they heavily rely on teaching and streaming as their primary source of revenue.

“I really need help in building the numbers on the streams to make enough money to support myself & pay my medical bills. Please join my t*w*i*t*c*h streams,” they continued.

After months of negotiations with video game companies failing to come to an agreement on protection for performers from artificial intelligence (AI), the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) went on strike against these companies last July 26.

Boettger clarified the situation they are in when a TikTok user questioned the voice actor about why they were the only one voicing the most Genshin update while the other VA’s did not.

“One of the studios that is being struck against is one of the studios that records for Genshin Impact. There are technically two studios recording for Genshin impact. I am the only actor that is recorded at the studio that is not struck against,” they stated.

The voice actor also mentioned that game development company MiHoYo moved them to a completely different studio after coming out publicly to say that they were not being paid for seven months. Aside from that, they are a part of the Financial Core (Fi-Core) which permits performers to be cast in any production, whether it’s under the union or not.
